    Pierce Technique
This chiropractic technique, founded by Dr. Walter Vernon Pierce, was established in the early 1970's and is also known as the "Pierce Results System".
It involves analysis of spinal motion to identify loss or limitation of spinal function.
Dr. Pierce was a world renowned chiropractor who spent his life trying to find better ways to get the best chiropractic results. He was instrumental in
developing the Zenith Hy-Lo chiropractic tables that are currently being manufactured. Dr. Pierce traveled the world teaching his technique to both
chiropractic students and chiropractors already in practice. In our opinion, the most important idea Dr. Pierce stressed was results. The Pierce Technique
brings both physical/objective and x-ray findings together to determine where the subluxations exist. He believed patients should be x-rayed to identify
structural distortion and restriction in motion.
The adjustments are performed utilizing drop pieces on adjusting tables. We use no rotational type adjusting procedures and there is no such thing as a
routine adjustment. We adjust subluxations only when present. The soft tissue is also a part of the musculoskeletal condition, so we also do trigger points
to the muscle to eliminate muscle spasm or hypertonicity.

    Activator Method Technique
The Activator Method Chiropractic Technique is a gentle, low-force approach to chiropractic care. The technique has been used safely on patients of all
ages since the late 1960s, bringing relief to people with a variety of health concerns.
Incorporating the latest advances in orthopedic, neurological and chiropractic examinations, this unique system of administering spinal adjustments
using research-based analysis and the Activator Adjusting Instrument can help restore spinal balance safely and comfortably.
Because of its effectiveness and gentle nature, the Activator Method has grown to become the world’s most widely-used instrument chiropractic technique.
How does the Activator Method work?
Restoring spinal balance safely and successfully has been the driving force behind the Activator Method Chiropractic Technique.
The technique utilizes specific protocols to detect spinal joint dysfunction, analyze leg length inequality, identify issues with body mechanics, and
test neurological reflexes. By analyzing results of these examinations, an Activator doctor can initiate the process of restoring spinal balance in the
    patient, gently and effectively.
The Activator Adjusting Instrument is the tool more doctors choose to deliver low-force chiropractic adjustments. This unique hand-held instrument has
been studied extensively with results published in hundreds of peer-reviewed research papers, and was designed to give patients a specific and gentle adjustment.

    NUCCA Technique
NUCCA (National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association) practitioners focus on very specifically and gently adjusting the Atlas vertebra, bringing it back to its proper position. The Atlas, or the topmost
bone in the spine, located just below the brain stem—is the first of the 7 vertebrae in the spine known as the cervical spine (C spine). Thus, the Atlas is
    also called C-1.
The Atlas vertebra supports the weight of the head. The Atlas is the only vertebra that does not have a disc above or below it; therefore, the Atlas is the
only freely movable vertebra in the spine. This movement allows the skull to rotate, but because of this movement, is also subject to injury and easy misalignment.
When the Atlas misaligns, compression of the brainstem may result; this compression can affect nearly every body function. Thus, the Atlas must be perfectly
aligned to enable the brain to properly communicate with the rest of the body.
Many of the symptoms that occur lower down the spine (in the lower back, or lumbar spine, for example) are caused by a subluxation, or misalignment,
higher up—at the Atlas vertebra. Thus, attempting to restore nerve flow to individual nerve roots in the lower spine cannot be effective if the Atlas and
cervical spine are not receiving a normal nerve supply.
    Why choose NUCCA care?
At Crist Family Chiropractic, we are able to naturally restore the health to individuals suffering from thousands of different health issues. This restoration of
health can be accomplished by using the NUCCA procedure to restore proper body balance. With proper body balance, the nervous system will function optimally and the
body can begin to heal naturally, without the use of dangerous drugs or surgery. We believe in the holistic approach to
health—treating the whole person and not just chasing after symptoms.
